Since my bitter, single-girl brain has refused to come up with a worthy Valentine's themed list for the month of February, let's try something different. Apparently one thing I love is talking about myself, so here's what I've been up to lately, Internet:
- Obsession: crocheting hats. My pattern knowledge is slim to none so a quick YouTube search highlighted this video with a pattern that is super easy to do the way she explains it and is perfect for super-duper beginners.
- Joy: my parents got another dog! My mom's Dachshund Yogi has been and probably forever will be deathly afraid of my father for reasons unknown, so they found an additional doxie who is inseparable from the dad-e-o. Her name is Annabell and she is freaking adorable. Can't wait to meet her and smother her with love and kisses.
- Read: "Blog Inc: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community" by Joy Deangdeelert Cho, about 25% through. Although a lot of what's written contains info I already know, I am still definitely learning new things and getting inspired all over again with blogging. My December blogging break had me feeling low, so this and other books I plan to read shall help me get back to my regular What Mandy blog schedules (and actually stick to 'em).
- Worry: not finding "the job" this month / money drying up because of it. Yeah yeah, I'm still employed but otherwise feeling like a bum when I'm not on the job (which is most of my pitiful life right now). It's me and countless other job seekers applying like crazy right now, so I'm not alone. Cross your fingers I get "the call" soon!
- Hope: all of my roommate's stuff fits in the apartment. His last load of stuff from a storage unit arrived over the weekend so there is a war zone downstairs full of stuff we are attempting to find places for. One man in my opinion does not need hundreds of glassware and several kitchen appliances I didn't even know existed, but that's something I don't have a say in because he "needs them!" Oh well.
- Update: fabric loom decor change! As you can see with the featured image here, I'm expanding on the DIY Loom Wall Art in my new bedroom. A 20-foot ceiling in my room means I can *BUY ALL THE LOOMS* and hang them up as tall as I want them to go! AND I found a better less-wall-damaging way to hang them: teeny-tiny Command hooks underneath! These looms weight almost nothing so these hooks work great, and those that are too heavy can have bigger hooks or pushpins depending on the size.
