Finds & Treasures: Harold the Hippo

Finds & Treasures: Harold the Hippo via www.whatmandyloves.com
Harold has been with me since I first moved to Nevada from Wyoming at the tender age of twelve.  My mom took me and my sister to a neighborhood Salvation Army for some afternoon shopping weeks into our move.  They had a promotion that day where any kid who walked in could get one free stuffed animal per kid.  My angst was showing initially with the thought of "I'm an older kid, I probably don't need a stuffed animal" but I looked through the overflowing bin anyway while my mom was checking out.  Then - cue the angel harmonies - I found this little gray blob.  He's been at my side ever since.

He's about the size of a basketball including his limbs.  A little tuft of hair is missing from one of his ears, most likely from a teething previous owner.  His eye buttons are barely visible because he's such an overstuffed thing with a big nose, but that just makes him cuter to me.  If he could speak I bet he'd have nasal problems with the schnauz, but not as high-pitched as Urkel.

Isn't he an adorable little blob?
I don't have many stuffed animals anymore due to the simple fact of growing up.  He survived the purge along with a handful of others, but he's the only one who still lives on my bed at my current twenty-four years of age.  (He may or may not still join me on road trips and such, too.)

Do you still have stuffed animals from your childhood?  Let me know in the comments!
